I Vote for Women

Kathleen Rice receives a 100% rating from the U.S. Women's Chamber of Commerce as a champion of women's economic priorities and is endorsed by the Women's Chamber for New York's 4th Congressional District.

“I am proud to announce the endorsement of the U.S. Women’s Chamber of Commerce ( http://www.uswcc.org ) for Kathleen Rice in the race for New York’s 4th Congressional District,” stated Margot Dorfman, CEO. “Kathleen Rice will be an important new legal expert in Congress supporting women, workers, and consumers.”

“Kathleen Rice is a champion of women’s economic priorities, receiving a one-hundred percent rating from the U.S. Women’s Chamber of Commerce,” continues Dorfman. “Rice is uniquely prepared to act upon issues that are holding women and workers back economically,” adds Dorfman. “Her experience as a legal advocate and prosecutor has given her unique insights into what it takes to level the playing field for women, consumers and workers.”

"Kathleen Rice was the first woman elected District Attorney in Long Island's history. When she took over the DA's office, women were hired less, paid less and promoted less. During her eight years there, a dramatic change took place; the pay gap closed, and now half of the prosecutors and executives are women."

“Kathleen supports a positive economic environment for women workers and business owners, American job creation, fair pay, a fair minimum-wage, family-friendly workplaces, access to affordable/quality healthcare and birth control, policies that support a vibrant middle class and access to capital and federal contracts for women-owned firms,” continues Dorfman.

“Kathleen Rice was the first woman elected District Attorney in Long Island’s history,” adds Dorfman. “When she took over the DA’s office, women were hired less, paid less and promoted less. During her eight years there, a dramatic change took place; the pay gap closed, and now half of the prosecutors and executives are women. Ms. Rice has also been an active advocate for consumers, workers and fair business practices while in the DA’s office,” continues Dorfman.  “Kathleen Rice is the type of savvy, tenacious leader we need in Congress today.”

“Growing the number of strong women leaders in Congress is critical to assuring that women’s economic priorities are advanced,” adds Dorfman. “American prosperity is directly linked to the economic success of women. Seventy percent of women work and seventy-two percent of mothers work. A record forty percent of all households with children under eighteen include mothers who are either the sole or primary source of income for their family. Women own 675,000 New York firms employing more than 470,000 workers,” continues Dorfman.

“Kathleen Rice is the right choice to extend the legacy of New York’s 4th District Rep. Carolyn McCarthy in Congress. The U.S. Women’s Chamber of Commerce is proud to endorse Kathleen Rice for Congress.”
